Pathfinders Sing Scripture Songs

1/9/2013

The Seventh-day Adventist Pathfinder Club, an organization which encourages young people to become well-rounded disciples of Jesus, requires its youth to memorize scriptures including verses about praise, prayer, salvation, doctrine, behavior, promises, relationships, and more.

The Fannin County Mountain Creek Pathfinders learned Trilogy Scripture Songs so these scriptures would be forever in their hearts. Because this method of memorization has been so easy and enjoyable, they desired to share these songs with Pathfinders and people everywhere.

This CD features the Fannin County Mountain Creek Pathfinders singing scriptures including Psalm 34:1-4, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Psalm 103:1-4, and more. It’s the perfect tool for helping your Pathfinders memorize scripture!

This is a great example of how to keep God's word hidden in our hearts! If you would like to purchase this CD, please visit AdventSource.

Your First Two Years in Ministry

7/9/2012

This book by Doug Fields offers some golden nuggets for those just entering into the youth ministry field. (They have been adapted specifically to Pathfinder Ministry.) Here they are:

·  Relationships are the key to a healthy ministry.
·  A healthy 'pathfinder' ministry reaches not only the 'pathfinder', but the entire family.
·  You WILL encounter conflict, so learn some effective tools of conflict management.
·  Don't be a Lone Ranger 'pathfinder director'. A team of leaders is essential.
·  Don't forget the value of student leadership in your ministry.
·  Continually evaluate what you're doing. Remember what worked in one location or church may not work in another...and vice versa.
· Don't come in and change everything at once.
· Be gentle with yourself - the first two years in a ministry are very difficult.

Master Guide Seminars

6/26/2012

On June 16, a group of 26 Pathfinder leaders and a school chaplain gathered to participate in the Master Guide Training and Continuing Education. Seven participants are new to Pathfindering and working on their Master Guide requirements. Four Pathfinder specialists, who are with the Southern Union and also members of the NAD Pathfinder Committee, presented the various topics, i.e. Leadership Skills, Communication Skills, Creativity & Resource Development, and Children & Youth Evangelism. Also, the participants learned of new NAD Pathfinder policies that will be in effect soon and insights into the programming planned for the Southern Union Camporee next October. ...Hopefully, we can have other types of training sessions in various parts of the conference in the future.
