Ropes will be placed on the ground, approx. 40 feet from the starting line near the pole they will tie the knots around. Pathfinders will stand single file and perpendicular to the start line approx. 40 feet from pole.
At the signal, one Pathfinder (one at a time) will run up to the pole and will be given (audibly) a knot to tie by the judge. The Pathfinder ties the randomly selected knot around the pole and returns to the starting line to tag the hand of the next Pathfinder, who then in turn runs to the pole and ties the next knot that the judge gives him/her.
When all knots are completed, the team should stand behind the starting line until given a signal from the judge. All knots must be tied around the pole and cannot fall loose.
