If you would like to learn how to go on a backpacking trip or do it better, this event is for you. We will be doing any easy backpacking trip with a focus on teaching the basics. There will be a planning meeting ahead of time to help you prepare. If you don’t have all the gear we can help you get it. This trip does not require an adult sponsor from your club. You must be a registered Pathfinder for the 21-22 school year. Club staff who want to learn to backpack are also invited.
** We are taking extra precautions during this time to decrease chances of exposure. Masks will be required while hiking and at all times during contact of less than 6 feet. The hiking pace will be slow for beginners with plenty of rest breaks. Our hike in will be around 2 miles. Participants will be required to sleep in their own tent, sharing is only allowed with members of the same household. Hammocks are a great option. One man or two man tents are also a good idea. If you are unable to acquire such a shelter, one can be provided for you.
